Garbage pail kids

I just had a total flashback. I used to love these Garbage Pail Kids trading cards when I was a kid. The artist behind them, Art Spiegelman, had such a unique and twisted style that made them borderline R-rated. Its fun to go back and look at them after all these years. They’re still pretty funny!

Oh wow, total eighties flashback. I remember these – wasn’t too fond of them. I can’t believe Art Speigelman did them. That’s pretty amazing. He was the guy that wrote Maus (the biography of his parents in Auschwitz). This makes Garbage Pail Kids a little creepily Freudian.

i remember one of these cards i was young, about 7 years old. a fond memory of a baby sitting on a toilet with a big hand coming out to grab him. iv been thinking about this forever.

I remember these cards. They were fun to look at then and still are now. My parents hated them because they made fun of certain disabilities. The idea of them didn’t even faze me when I was 8. The idea was to collect them all, and oh was I mad at those kids that found the rare impossible ones to find. It wasn’t bashing to me, it was a collection obsession. *sigh* :)
