I highly recommend <a href="http://www.alternative-hawaii.com/activity/beacho/sw.htm" rel="nofollow">Nimitz Beach</a> for a relaxing, uncrowded day (and it is next to White Plains). There are also some interesting lava formations on the beaches near Makaha worth checking out, but make sure you are out of the area by sunset or you might get harassed.
